Adventures in parenting, pastoring and politics in Pennsylvania.

Don’t ask yourself what the world needs. Ask yourself what makes you come alive and then go do that. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.

I saw this quote, attributed to Howard Thurman, at the bottom of an email. It stuck with me,  since focusing on the world’s needs is a habit of mine. But I get what he’s saying, that its equally important to tend to the things that make your heart beat faster. Starting a blog isn’t the most exciting way to start that process. I would rather travel around the world, create art or climb mountains. But between kids, dishes and daily routine, it may be the best way I have, in the half hour before bed, to think about what I noticed this day and write a few words about it. It is amazingly satisfying, centering and fun. Thanks for reading. Don’t forget to leave a comment.

Wow Amy. I am embarrassed that I did not know you have a blog. Clearly it has been going on for year. I hope that everything went okay with Mei’s meds. I can’t wait to see you very soon – when we can get nice and caught up! Lots of love, Liz
